TESTIMONIALS
We were referred to the Centre for Learning and Excellence from the psychologist who carried out intelligence tests on Blaize. Although Blaize is gifted, he had gaps in his learning, difficulties with concentration and motivation. Blaize began his individualised program in both Maths and English in 2010 when he was in Year 3. His performance in English was already significantly above average in most areas and it was in those areas where he was weaker such as comprehension which were accelerated at the centre to be at the same level as his other skills. His skills in Maths, however, were on or below the average for his age. Tests performed by the psychologist indicated that Blaize had the potential for higher achievement than this. After only one year at the Centre, Blaize’s progress and results were so remarkable that he has now, at the age of eight in Year 4, been chosen to be accelerated in Maths at school. He will be undertaking Stage 3 (Year 5 and 6) work this year. I am thrilled that Blaize has blossomed academically as a result of his time at the Centre. I have particularly appreciated the time taken by the staff to discuss Blaize’s progress and to share our frustrations as parents about how the needs of gifted children are often ignored in the mainstream classroom because their needs are not as obvious as others. It is a real partnership. We worked together to yield these amazing results. Blaize is expected to continue his program for another year

Dear Tamara,
During her time at the Centre, our daughter has gained significant confidence with maths. She has transformed from being somewhat intimidated by maths to a student who now relishes the opportunity to solve a maths problem and share her learning with others. We are delighted with her progress and thank her wonderful tutor and the Centre for their care and informed encouragement.

To Jenny, Shirley and all the wonderful staff,
Our son Harry was a very active and bright little boy. He was the first at his age to ride a bike with no training wheels, and the first to speak. John and I were not worried about him at all when he started school. Kindy was fun as he was a very happy and sociable little boy. He was very popular and loved school. However, in Year One, his teacher told us that he was in fact struggling and he faced many difficulties.
At the time, we dismissed her feedback and let things be. We realised how right she was when Harry was in Year Four and he still could not read or spell. We saw the advertisement for the Centre for Learning and Excellence in the Sydney’s Child. My friend Janet had done some research into it and agreed that it was the best place to get help for our kids.
Harry joined the team in 2007. A special program was prepared for him. For the next two years, he worked with Jenny and Shirley in order to bring his grades up at school. In 2010 he entered high school and in his half yearly exam,s he scored 86% in English. He was ranked 11th in his year out of 60 students. Harry scored 80% in his History. He was ranked 4th. John and I were so elated we could not believe it. All the hard work had finally paid off.
We just want to say thanks so much for all the wonderful support and encouragement that you gave Harry. It was a long journey, but we finally got there.We continue to work with the Centre because our boys Charlie and Michael now attend. Keep up the good work. Australia needs more teachers like you. Regards,

Thank you Jenny, for helping and believing in me. This tutoring I have been doing has been the most effective on my learning.
Thank you for the support.

Samuel has gone from being a boy who was at Year 1 levels in Maths to being able to do Year 4 Maths challenges. His teacher cannot believe the progress that he has made in 8 months. Samuel’s confidence has grown and instead of dreading school, he is a happy participant.

Dear Jenny and Staff of CLE
I would like to thank everyone at CLE for the effort put in to Sophie’s tuition (Year 4, 2006 – Year 5, 2007). She has since moved to high school and received the Year 7 Maths Award for topping her class, and now in Year 8, she is in the top maths class and has had no problems at all.
Through everyone’s hard work and commitment to the program, the results were beyond our expectations. Now, our son Tom (Year 5) is enrolled in the same course, and we are looking forward to the same success as Sophie.

Hi Jenny
I thought you might like to see the comment from Maddy’s teacher on her report.
‘We are absolutely thrilled, and Maddy is so proud of herself scoring ‘1 for effort’ in every subject at school. We can’t ask for much more than that.’ Many thanks to you and your staff. You do a great job!

Dear Jenny and staff,
We would like to thank you for your astonishing and dedicating work with Ally. Within 12 months of undertaking your program her academic achievements have been wonderful. Not only has this been ascertained by standardised testing, it was also acknowledged by her teacher. In which, she was genuinely surprised how much improvement Ally achieved. She went from the bottom groups in both English and Maths, at the start of school last year, to moving up to the average range and in spelling to the top group of the class by the final term. However, for us as parents what has been more significant has been the change in her self-esteem and confidence. We have seen her blossom over the past 12 months into a very confident little girl. Which was reinforced over the Christmas period from a number of family members (who live inter state and only see her yearly) commenting on the positive change and her self-confidence. We have now started the new school year on such a high with Ally being elected as class captain, after her presentation on “What I would do if I was class captain” to her peers.So thank you and your staff so very, very much and we look forward to continuing the work this year!
Kind regards,

Jenny, I wanted to let you know how Alexandra went in her HSC 2009 results. She undertook the following courses;
English (Advanced) = 2 Units
Mathematics Extension 1 = 2 units
Mathematics extension 2 = 2 Units
Physics = 2 Units
Chemistry = 2 Units
French Continuers = 2 Units
Overall she achieved an ATAR of 99.90 out of a maximum possible score of 99.95. She was placed in the top 12 students in the state in Chemistry and receives the Premiers Award for All Rounders, which is awarded to students scoring above 90 in all subjects studied.
I wanted, in particular, to thank you for the help you gave Alexandra in her primary school years 4, 5 & 6. As you may recall she undertook study at your Centre, mainly in Maths but also in English, as she was slightly off the pace at that point. The fantastic grounding she received there stood her in great stead for her Secondary years. She needed no further coaching after year 6 yet managed to compile a fantastic overall result in the HSC. In particular, she performed extremely well in her 4 units of maths, which pushed her overall result up considerably.
Thanks again for the help.
Sincerely

We personally wanted to thank you for the exceptional transformation of our son Dylan. When we enrolled Dylan with you 3 months ago. At the beginning of Year 1 he had no interest in school or learning, and found it to be an overwhelming challenge and was way behind the children in his class. Needless to say, we had a very unhappy 6 yr old!Here we are at the end of term one, now with a very happy, little boy who loves to read, spell and go to school
The change in his ability to learn and retain his lessons as well as his motivation and readiness to read and comprehend is nothing short of a miracle! I believe that unless we had found you and your program, Dylan would have never had an opportunity in his regular school environment to demonstrate his full abilities leading to a life long struggle in his education.
Thank you for your encouragement, sensitivity and professionalism and common sense approach.Thank you particularly in the way you have dealt with Dylan's Receptive Language Disorder, your approach has made him feel nothing but self pride in his accomplishments and I loved the fact that you work at his individual pace so it never made him feel overwhelmed.
Chris our tutor is always full of encouragement, I feel the one on one tutor has been exceptionally beneficial and each week Dylan surprises us (and his class teacher) with what he is able to now complete at school without assistance. Dylan can’t wait to start next term.
Warmest Regards,
